Our Story

Our journey is a humble one, born of devotion and nurtured by the love, faith, and encouragement of those dear to us.

Faith

My wife and I are a couple from the Gaudiya Vaishnava community, and we are deeply blessed to call Śrīdhām Māyāpur our home. We live beside the quiet waters of the Ganga River, in that sacred land where the landscape itself seems to bear the memory of generations of devotion.

From our home, we look out upon the gentle river and the temple domes rising against the open sky; and as kīrtans, conch shells, and temple bells resound through the air, we are reminded each day of the beauty, grace, and spiritual heritage that surrounds us.

Faith

Family

BHRAAJ, however, is not a work that we could have brought into being by ourselves. It has grown through the affection, generosity, and faith of our family, friends, and well wishers, those who believed in this little dream even before it had taken form.

We hold a particularly cherished place in our hearts for our younger brother and guide, Sarvasiddhi Prabhu, who was the first to place this beautiful idea before us. From those earliest days, he has stood beside us with constant encouragement, guidance, and affection, helping us take one step after another.

We are equally indebted to our mentor and brother-in-law, Krishna Dayasindu Prabhu, whose generous financial support gave us the means to take our first steps when BHRAAJ was still little more than a dream. We carry a deep gratitude for the trust he placed in us at the very beginning of this journey.

Yet our hope for BHRAAJ extends beyond our own endeavour.

Gifted Artisans

Gifted Artisans

Our journey began with a desire to support the incredibly talented artisans of the rural villages of Mayapur, to bring their beautiful craftsmanship beyond their quiet village homes and share it with people around the world.

Every product you find at BHRAAJ is handmade by traditional Bengali artisans. Working with simple tools and techniques passed down through generations, they bring together years of experience, patience, and craftsmanship to create each piece by hand.

When you choose a piece from BHRAAJ, you are doing more than simply making a purchase. You are supporting artisan families, helping preserve traditional craftsmanship and contributing to meaningful livelihoods in the villages of Bengal.

In this way, every piece carries a small part of the hands and stories of the people who made it.

Founders’ Note

Founders’ Note

It is our hope that BHRAAJ may serve as a modest bridge between these gifted artisans and those who value the beauty of things made with care. And if, through our efforts, a little of Bengal’s artistic heritage finds its way into homes across the world, we shall consider the journey well worthwhile.

From our home beside the sacred river to yours, we offer our heartfelt thanks for supporting our dream, for honouring the hands that make these treasures, and for becoming, in your own way, a part of the extended family of BHRAAJ.

With deep gratitude,

Svayam Syama Krishna Das Krishnaprana Sudevi Dasi
